A Beauty Guide on Avon Makeup Brushes

I used to be the girl who applied liquid foundation with my fingertips — the girl who used the sponge applicators (that come in the eyeshadow palettes) to apply my eyeshadow. I would try to create new and exciting lippy looks by mixing my lipsticks and never even knowing that there was such a thing as a lip brush. Then, when I would go to use my lipstick again, it was never the shade it was supposed to be — but instead my own shade creation. Ugh! What was I doing wrong? I saw others using these big, fluffy brushes and such and I thought — is all of that really necessary? Does it really make a difference? So, last year shortly after I signed up online tobecome an Avon Representative, I gave in to what I thought at the time to be “the hype” and ordered a few of the Avon Pro Makeup Brushes.
The first brushes that I tried out were: the Avon Pro Eyeshadow Brush and the Avon Pro Crease Brush. I didn’t want to go all out if I found that these really weren’t necessary for me. I set aside the sponge applicator that I had been using and dabbed the new eyeshadow brush in my Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad (shade Chocolate Sensation!).
My first impression was how simple it was to get the product on the brush. With the sponge applicator, you have to sort of dig in at it and smear it on — not with the Avon Pro Eyeshadow Brush, though! All I had to do was a gentle tap, a smooth, effortless tap and I was all prepped. I applied the first quad shade on my inner eye lid, blending outward toward the center. I flipped the brush over to the “clean side” and prepped it with the second quad shade. At this point I was thinking: “Wow, this is really easy — and fast!” To finish off my look, I grabbed the Avon Pro Crease Brush to use the remaining quad shades and give me the smoky look I adore. No mess, no fuss, just a girl playing with some makeup.
After I had my eyes all dolled up, I took a good look in the mirror. My eyeshadow seemed to be more even than it had ever had before. These brushes are very easy to use and it was then that I realized that I did need these in my life. *Insert dramatic faced emoticon here*

My take on these beauty tools:
Application time was reduced due to the ease of these tools. The finished look appears to have a more professional finish than what my prior application process was giving me. I highly recommend everyone who wears makeup to have a set of pro-style makeup brushes. I feel that anyone who enjoys applying makeup and trying out new techniques will find Avon’s Pro Makeup Brushes to be effective tools to their process.
My next makeup brush purchase from Avon was the Avon Pro Kabuki Brush. I use this to apply my Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation(Which, by the way, I am absolutely in love with! I had never noticed how perfumed my previous face makeup was until using the Smooth Minerals product. There is zero fragrance to it and it works wonders for my sensitive skin and covering up any imperfections. Gives a gorgeous glow, also.) The Kabuki Brush has no long handle to it, you just cup it in your hand and swirl softly on your face. The bristles aren’t tough nor harsh and work great in getting the powder blended all over.
My most recent Avon Pro Makeup Brush purchase was the Avon Pro Blush Brush. I use this brush in applying my Smooth Minerals Blush(Another fabulous product! I currently have shade Blushing Mauve. This gives such a pretty pink and rosy glow to my cheeks. Great for defining my cheekbones, too! You can dab as little or as much as is your style!) I have noticed that Avon’s Blush Brush does shed a bristle or two at times. This doesn’t happen every time and when it does it’s easy enough to get the stray bristle off. Worth mentioning to you all though! Overall, I do like the ease of the brush. I like the longer handle for applying my blush as it seems to aid me in not overdoing it when I don’t have to. The longer handle seems to give me more control over where i’m applying my blush to.

My Avon Pro Makeup Brush Collection is no where near complete, there are many more brushes that I will be trying out soon! Avon’s branch-brand mark. has a new mini brush set coming out soon. 8 mark. Beauty Must-Haves for Warm Weather

Evening, beauts. Today was absolutely gorgeous where I am located and so — it got me thinking about how before I know it, Summer will be here. In order to beat the heat, i’ll have to switch up my makeup stash to accommodate the icky sticky humidity. Now, how to go about doing that?Well, mark. has some seriously hot beauty products that will keep you cool. Let’s take a look!

My Avon Beauty Favorites | Post 4

Hey, beauts — Happy March! Spring is truly around the corner and I cannot wait. Sure, the snow is pretty to look at but so are bright colored flowers and sunshine! In my first blog post of March, i’ll be continuing my series on My Avon Beauty Faves Roundup, with Post Four. I hope you all enjoy it! Please, feel free to comment after the posting and share with us your favorite Avon beauty products.
I’m going to start first with the lipstick. The all-new Perfectly Matte Lipstick in shade Ideal Lilac is a perfect shade for Spring. It’s bright and the matte finish is a current beauty trend. This lipstick, while being a matte finish, is not drying to the lips. It never cakes nor cracks and has an incredible lightweight feel. It is one of my favorite Avon beauty products, I highly recommend trying it! You can purchase this shade and the other 11 shades to the line at youravon.com/ssandis. This product has a regular price of $9 each tube but as of this post is on special for just $5.99 each tube! I recently blogged on this new line of lipsticks from Avon, CLICK HERE to read my review, including swatches.
Avon Dazzlers Top Coat has been around for a while but I just recently got around to trying it out. There are 5 shades included in this line of nailwear, pictured above is Disco Ball. You can wear this top coat alone or over top of polish. Dazzlers are a fun way to dress up your mani! This product is regularly priced at $6 each but be sure to check my Avon eStore to see if there’s a current special promotional offer. What I like to do with this product is create a french tip look over top of my nail polish color. Then, on my ring finger apply it all over. What looks can/will you create with this product?
I am a HUGE fan of Magix Face Perfector! Before I tried it, I honestly did not think that it was necessary to my beauty routine. I did not see the point and I did not think it would make a difference. This, however, would be one of the times that I was glad to be proven wrong! This colorless face primer gets me prepped and creates a smooth canvas for my Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation. This product blurs the look of pores and lines and the added SPF 20 gives me extra confidence that my skin will be protected. Regularly priced at $11 each at youravon.com/ssandis As of this post, you can purchase a tube of the Magix Face Perfector for the lowest price ever of just $6.99! Give it a try and add it to your online order.
Finishing off today’s post is the Avon Makeup Remover Wipes with Mineral Complex. These wipes are a lifesaver! There are 24 wipes per pack and I only need one wipe to remove a complete face makeup. One pack lasts me almost a month (I don’t wear makeup everyday). I have sensitive skin but I have had no issues with irritation from these. I don’t notice any scent to these really, I just notice that they really get the job done! One pack of 24 wipes is regularly priced at $8, but these often go on sale for only $3.99 — so, check out my Avon eStore and get the best price! I like to stock up on these at that price, just store in a cool place and they won’t dry out before you get around to using them.
That’s gonna do it for today, loves! Thanks for reading and choosing to shop Avon & mark. products online with me. Keep checking back for more product reviews, news, and freebies — all coming to the blog, soon!

An Expiration on Beauty? When in Doubt, Toss it Out

This morning i'd like to take some time and blog about the shelf life of your cosmetics and when you are to toss (and then replenish!) your must-haves.

You may be able to stretch that tube of mascara for a long time. You probably think you are being money conscious, thrifty, and savvy. Saving a few bucks here and there is a wise move, sure --- but not in this case! When you keep your makeup around for longer than you should, you risk all sorts of bacteria growth and this can lead to eye infections and skin irritations that can cause you to break out. Ick. No thanks! So, in case you were unfamiliar about when you should replace your tube of mascara, its every 3 months. Whether you've exhausted the makeup inside or not, it's time to toss it and purchase a new one. Plenty of great sales on fabulous mascaras at youravon.com/ssandis

My mascara favs: Big & False Lash and Wash-Off Waterproof. Have you tried these?

Not only do you risk eye infections and acne blunders when you use the same makeup for too long, over time it will also loose its quality and this can result in undesirable looks. Think about the last time you did a makeup toss. If you can't remember when, it's time to go through the makeup bag. As you can see, its sound advice that if you are not sure how old a certain makeup product is, that you should throw it away.

You should also be washing your makeup brushes at least twice a month to keep them clean and from transferring bacteria to your skin. I use Baby Shampoo to clean mine, it works great!

BEAUTY TIP:

To help you remember when its time to toss your cosmetics, slap a label on the product of when you opened it and used it for the first time.
